Two suspected inter-state transformer vandals are currently in net of the Delta State Police Command.
DSP Andrew Aniamaka, the Police Image Maker in the state who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said they were arrested with the help of vigilante operatives in Atama-Iga after allegedly vandalizing the transformer in the area, and handed them over to the police.
He said that the police were looking for the principal suspect who had trained others were currently at large, adding that the police upon completion of investigation, would be charged to court. According to him, “the suspects upon interrogation confessed to the crime, and named their master who trained them, the suspects agreed that they were behind transformers vandalization in Illah, Asaba, parts of the Eastern States and others in the country”.
DSP Aniamaka disclosed that the police were on the frail of others at large, adding that they will do everything possible to bring to book”. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community Development, Mrs. Omatsola Williams dissociated herself from any form of extortion or child trafficking in her ministry. According to her, “some unfolded online media publications alleged that the ministry involving in some unholy practices” It is not true, the publications are misleading.”
She however, warned that any orphanage caught hoarding, trafficking children or involved in any unholy practice would be severally dealt with according to the law, Mrs. Omatshola called on owners of orphanages in the state to ensure they fellow due process before any baby would be adopted.
