Two more Zamfara state serving commissioners, of Transport and Commerce, have tendered their resignation letters and have joined the other 17 political office holders earlier dropped their jobs with the state government.
The Commissioner of Transport, Nasiru Zarumi Masama, who made a copy of his resignation letter available to Peoples Daily yesterday, said he has done so to enable him have time for his family and to face future challenges.
This was coming merely a couple of weeks ago, when the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, who is a former national Chairman for Action Congress, Hassan Muhammad Zurmi, voluntarily resigned his appointment for political reasons.
Testifying as to the reason for his resignation yesterday, Hassan Zurmi, on a locally transmitted Pride FM, operating in Gusau, the state capital, said that he dropped his position as Commissioner to join the PDP in the state.
“I had never had a knowledge on how the affairs of my ministry were managed despite the fact that I was appointed to man it for good three years; not even a fifty thousand naira contract was I formally given mandate to execute, but only to be assigned for preliminary inspection”, Zurmi exploded.
It would be recalled some months ago, two commissioners, eleven special advisers and three directors-general have already dropped their jobs to join the opposition PDP in the state.
