Thirteen Nigerians, who have distinguished themselves in the service of humanity, have received the Janus Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration.
The nomination was unanimous endorsement of the senate of the Janus University, Califonia, USA, the governing council of the Joint University Standard Evaluation Council as well as the World Association of Academic Evaluation and Assessors, the umbrella body that coordinates the affairs of the institution in Africa.
The awardees include: the General Manager, Benue State Rural Water Supply And Sanitation Agency, Engr. Ejembi Candidus Ella, Chief Executive Officer, Foundation for Peace, Economic and Agricultural Transformation, Alhaji Malik Audu, Editor in Chief, Afri World Magazine, Fred Orinya.
Others are; Prince Edwin Ochai, Engr. Kolawole Balogun, Chairman, Memmcol Nigeria Limited, Hon. Abubakar Yunusa Ahmed, Reverend Shekwonya Ibrahim Jeshi, ECWA Church among others.
Speaking during a Conference organized by Afri World Magazine, at the FCT Education Resource Centre, during which the honor was conferred on the beneficiaries, the National Coordinator, WAAEA, Prof. L.A Adeyemi said the award aimed at promoting and encouraging excellence in service delivery as well as recognizing immense contributions of outstanding personalities across the globe.
He said the awardees are believed to have been the enviable pillars for sustainable development in their respective communities, states and countries, leading to the desired growth rate and sustainable development of humanity in general.
“This is in view of your immeasurable contributions towards the upliftment of your society by making life meaningful for the less privileged members of the society.
“Beyond this, it is on record that you are a strong proponent of good governance in African Leadership vis-a vis your selfless service to humanity,” the National coordinator emphasized.
Also, speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Editor in Chief, Afri World Magazine, Fred Orinya said it was the second phase of the continental conference held earlier this month, with the theme, “Peace and Unity of the Nation, after which some distinguished politicians were accorded similar honour.
“We are now awarding men that have done so well in their various field with Honourary Doctorate Degree upon the authourisation we have from Janus University, and the regional coordinator of the organized body in Africa,” he said.
According to him, the nomination was done by the public and awardees selected after being subjected to public opinion for more than three years.
In their various remarks, the awardees expressed gratitude for being conferred the honour and affirmed their commitment to do more towards multifaceted development of the country.
