About 100 women and widows were married off yesterday as part of the maiden mass wedding conducted in Kaduna state.
The mass wedding was organized by Darul Rahmah and officiated by Sultan Bello Mosque, Sheikh Balele Wali at Al-Mannar Juma’at Mosque in the state.
Sheikh Balele Wali tasked the grooms and brides to fear Allah and take the marriage seriously.
He said marriage is the best thing that can happen to any individual, saying it’s now the responsibility of the grooms to feed and clothes their wives.
In his response, Chairman of Darur Rahmah in Kaduna, Sheikh Ishaq Yunus said the group has succeeded in conducting the marriage of 100 women including widows in the state.
He said the group with the support of other individuals and state government would furnished the rooms of the newly weeded.
“We have beds, sewing machines, grinding machines that would be given to the newly wed, particularly the brides. We also have foodstuffs that would be distributed to the couples courtesy of wife of the vice president, state government,” he said.
He thanked the state governor, Dr Muktar Ramalan Yero for the support given to them for the wedding to be a successful one.
Hisbah Movement Commander in Kano State, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa urged the organizers to emulate Kano state by engaging Christians who are interested to get marry but do not have the means to do that.
“Such a marriage will encouraged our youths who are afraid of getting to embrace marriage because of its importance,” he said.
