AFCON defending champions, the Super Eagles of Nigeria could be drawn together with seven times winners Egypt, four times champions Cameroon and Senegal. This may be possible following the Confederation of African Football (CAF) disclosure of its seeding for the draw for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations that will be held in Morocco. The draw will take place on March 10 in Morocco during CAF General Assembly, with the qualification procedure reverting to its normal format as opposed to the modified mode for the just-conclude edition.

Already, 48 teams are on the starting line and seeded in four pots of 11 teams each according to their current ranking.
Though Egypt, Cameroon and Senegal all failed to qualify for the 29th edition of the tournament-all but the Senegalese Lions missed the tournament for the consecutive times after missing first the jointly hosted edition in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea and the recent fiesta held in South Africa.

Nonetheless, CAF seeded all three teams on Pot Two while Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Mali and Ghana- all semi-finalists of the last edition and the quarter-finalists are seeded.

Seedings Pot one: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Mali, South Africa, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Zambia, Tunisia, Ghana.
Pot two: Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Uganda, Congo, Central African Republic.
Pot three: Ethiopia, Benin, Angola, Niger, Zimbabwe, Equatorial, Mozambique, Malawi, Burundi, Liberia, Sudan.
Pot four: To be determined after the preliminary round.
